okay bubba,
riddle me this:
i was in my garden today pulling up some stuff and there were bees hanging out in the stalks i was pulling up. i was clearly disorienting them in someway because they would hang out on my boots or my shirt or something and just pant for a while and then they would fly down to the ground and start burying themselves.
what.were.they.up.to?
I’m not sure. Was it raining? I haven’t actually read or observed what bees do in the field on a scattered showers day. Maybe they were hiding from the rain. Maybe they were getting honeydew. Maybe, but it seems unlikely, they were just gathering water. But it’s a mystery to me.
no rain about and also no hive about. it remains a mystery.
